How to Crochet the Moss Stitch?

Crocheting the Moss stitch is very easy, as it uses 2 basic stitches. The stitch is made by alternating single crochet and chains, where the single crochet is worked into the chain space.
This stitch is so simple, being a one row repeat stitch you can crochet it without thinking, and I’m not even talking about counting stitches!
The fun thing about this simple stitch, is that it is versatile and you can crochet the moss stitch in more than one way. It can also be made in a corner to corner method and in a square. You can find these tutorials here:

These three different names refer to the same beautiful and easy stitch!

Is the Moss Stitch Good For Blankets (and more project ideas)?

The Moss stitch is a perfect stitch when making a blanket. It creates a dense fabric with no holes, but it’s still very soft and ideal as a blanket.

Because of the nature of the fabric, this stitch is great for almost any project, such as hotpads, washcloths, scarves and shawls, you name it!
