I made this bookmark while visiting my sister in California, I wanted to leave her a present and decided to make a simple crochet bookmark that could be worked out quickly.

I wanted to make an easy crochet bookmark, so I used the corner to corner V stitch, which is super easy and creates a beautiful texture.

My sister loves reading and this is the second bookmark I’m making her, I love how quick to make this bookmark is. It’s a useful gift and always appreciated by the recipient.

The Yarn I Used for My Crochet Bookmark

For my bookmark, I used 100% mercerized cotton yarn in DK (#3) weight. I like using mercerized cotton for these kinds of projects because of the nice shine the yarn has.

The beautiful thing about this corner to corner bookmark pattern is that it’s super easy to adjust to any yarn weight you want. You can even use a Sport or Lace weight yarn, or a Worsted weight yarn if that’s what you have in your stash.

Just follow the instructions and increase until you get to the desired width, then continue decreasing on one side as the pattern instructs.

Cut 15 pieces (5 for each tassel) measuring approx. 8.5 in (22cm).

Fold the 5 pieces strands of yarn in half, using your hook pull the center of the yarn through the right side of the bookmark. Remove the hook and pull the ends of the yarn through the small loop, tighten the yarn.

Repeat at the middle and left side of the bookmark.

Block the bookmark if needed.
