The Moss stitch is one of my favorite crochet stitches. It’s simple and easy and has a beautiful texture. Combining this stitch with the corner to corner method creates an even more fun pattern that eliminates the need to start with a long chain. And if you add more stitches to the basic Moss stitch (like I did in my C2C Cornerstone blanket), you get a unique textured fabric.
I wanted to use the C2C Moss stitch as my “base pattern” and add floral elements that will pop out of the fabric. To create the leaves, I used the Spike Single Crochet stitch, and for the flowers, I used a 4 double crochet cluster stitch that is worked around the front post.

The Yarn I Used For My Diagonal Crochet Dishcloth
For my crochet dishcloth, I used the lovely Katia – Seacell Cotton yarn in mint green and light pink shades. This is a 75% cotton and 25% lyocell DK (#3) weight yarn. What made me want to try it was that it is composed of 100% biodegradable matter and seaweed which are collected in a sustainable manner. And after I used it in this project, I think it’s my new favorite cotton blend yarn! It’s very soft, not very splitty, and has this beautiful stitch definition that really made the texture pop!
For your dishcloth, you can use any 100% cotton, or cotton blend with a high percentage of cotton. You can also use a different yarn weight, since we are crocheting from corner to corner and can easily adjust the finished size.
