When I first designed the C2C Braided Beans Dishcloth pattern, I knew I had to make a table runner with this design. I love how elegant and easy this pattern is.

This is an easy crochet table runner pattern with a fun repeat section. Since it is worked from corner to corner, you can even make it wider or longer if you’d like.

I chose to add crochet tassels to my table runner, but this is totally optional of course!

The Yarn I Used for My Crochet Table Runner

For my crocheted table runner, I used Worsted (#4) weight 100% cotton yarn. The sturdiness of the cotton is important for the durability of the table runner, it’s easy to take care of and wash, so the table runner will look good over time.

I used Lion Brand – Re-Up yarn, which is 70% Recycled Cotton 30% and Recycled Polyester. I like the ecological aspect of the yarn and its kind of “rough” look.
It’s important for me to mention, that although I did like the yarn and the end result, the yarn itself splits quite a lot and is a bit rough.

This pattern is part of the C2C Adventure CAL!

Notes

  • To make it easier to find the ch3 / ch2 spaces at the end of the row, place a stitch marker when you ch3/ch2 at the beginning of each row.
  • The Wattle stitches are worked into the ch-1 sp.
  • The [1 sc, ch 1, 1 LB] are worked into the top of the LB/mb stitches (except of in row 2).
  • Ch-1 sp counts as a stitch, when instructed to skip sts.
  • The pattern is reversible.

Adding Tassels

Cut 48 pieces of yarn (12 for each corner) measuring approx. 12.5 ‘’ (31 cm).

Fold the 12 pieces strands of yarn in half, using your hook pull the center of the yarn through the corner of the table runner from the back side. Remove the hook and pull the ends of the yarn through the small loop, tighten the yarn tails to secure the tassel.
