Crochet Polka Dot Blanket with Bead Stitch

This cute and fun crochet stitch will make a beautiful crochet Polka Dot Blanket!

To make it more interesting, I used the Bead stitch instead of the bobble stitch, which is used in many other crochet blankets.

The written instructions have a step-by-step photo tutorial to help you master this stitch and create a beautiful blanket!

I love the look of crochet polka dot blankets and have wanted to make one for a long time. To create an interesting look, I decided to use the crochet Bead stitch as the “dots” of the blanket.

You can use this pattern to make a big crochet blanket with polka dots or incorporate it in a blanket to add some interest and texture.

I used the Extended Half Double Crochet stitch because I love the look of this stitch, but if you prefer you can replace it with Double Crochet stitch.

Notes

  • Stitch multiple: this pattern is a stitch multiple of 12 plus 1 (turning ch).
  • Chain 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
  • STsc is an alternative to the 1st Ehdc, its intention in this pattern is to get a straighter edge. If you prefer, you can replace it with ch3, or ch2 + Ehdc at the beginning of each row.
  • Bead stitch counts as 2 stitches (1 dc, puff).
