About the Tiny Lights Crochet Christmas Tree Design

I was first inspired to create a small crochet Christmas tree design when a friend asked me to make her an ornament that can be put on a table or a shelf, instead of hanging on the tree.

This amigurumi Christmas tree pattern is worked from the bottom top, so you don’t have any sewing to do (except for the button at the top).

I recommend combining contrasting colors to enhance the tree decorations. I used a golden bead, but you can use whatever bead you’d like!

What yarn should you use for the Tiny Lights Crochet Christmas Tree?

I love to use mainly natural fibers for my projects and I think a yarn with a high percentage of cotton will be the best choice, although you can use whatever yarn is suitable for you.

A great option of yarn for this project is the Comfy Fingering by KnitPicks,  this is a Fingering (#1) weight yarn, it is 75% Pima cotton and 25% acrylic and is extremely soft and squishy with a wide range of colors to choose from, and unlike other cotton yarn, this one isn’t splitting at all!

Notes

  • This crochet Christmas tree is worked from bottom up, in continuous rounds (no need to slip stitch at the end of the round).
