I love a quick project that turns into a useful item.
These easy crochet coasters are made using the Primrose stitch and work up quickly, with only two two-row repeat pattern! I just love this stitch pattern, I also used it in my Rambling Roses Blanket Square.
These crochet coasters will also be great as a gift or to sell at craft fairs.

How to Make Square Crochet Coasters?
Crochet coasters can be made in any shape, for this pattern I wanted to create an easy crochet coasters pattern and chose to make a square-shaped crochet coaster.
The square shape can be done by working from the middle out, like a granny square, Iris in a Square, or Moss stitch in a Square.
Or you can take any stitch pattern you like and work it back and forth to crochet a square in your desired size for your crochet coasters.

How Big Should a Coaster Be?
The standard size of a coaster is between 3.5 to 5 inches (8.9-12.7 cm).
So if you are crocheting a square coaster, check your gauge and make sure your row is in the correct width.
And if you decided to make a round crochet coaster, then create a 3.5-5 in diameter coaster.
What Kind of Yarn Is Recommended For Crochet Coasters?
The recommended yarn for a crochet coaster pattern is 100% cotton yarn.
Cotton yarn is resistant to high temperatures and can be washed easily in the washing machine.
Acrylic yarn is not recommended, as it could melt down when being in contact with high temperatures for too long.
