Square Crochet Face Scrubbies

Most of the crochet face scrubby patterns you will see online are round, like my Flower Face Scrubbies.

Since I used the Crunch stitch and wanted the pattern to be crochet face scrubbies for beginners, I decided to make them square face scrubbies.

Working them back and forth, and repeating only 2 stitches, making it the perfect pattern for beginners and a great project to learn a new stitch.

Reusable Crochet Face Scrubby

The best thing about this easy crochet face scrubbies pattern is that it’s an eco-friendly crochet pattern. You can reuse the face scrubbies easily by throwing them into the washing machine, just wash and reuse them.

I’m trying to minimize the amount of waste I am producing, and using these reusable crochet face scrubbies instead of the disposable ones is a simple solution.

What Yarn Is Best for Crochet Face Scrubbies?

Crochet face scrubbies are reusable items that should last long, and needs to be nice and gentle on your skin. That’s why the best yarn to use for a crochet face scrubby is 100% cotton yarn.

For this pattern, I used CotLin by KnitPicks it’s 70% Tanguis Cotton, 30% Linen really soft and nice on your skin, and is washed easily.

How Big Should a Crochet Face Scrubby Be?

A good size for a crochet face scrubby is between 3-4” (7.6-10 cm), so the scrubby has enough surface area, but it is not too big.

You can also make these scrubbies into a washcloth by increasing the starting chain and keeping an odd number of stitches. A good size for a washcloth will be approximately 6.5” (16.5 cm).

Notes

  • The Crunch stitch is made with an odd number of chains.
  • You can also make a washcloth using this pattern, just increase the number of stitches and keep an odd number in the beginning chain.
  • Work the ss a little loose to make it easier to crochet into it.
  • The Crunch stitch is very similar to the Even Moss Stitch, the only difference is that the Even Moss stitch starts with ch1, and the Crunch stitch starts with ch2. The Crunch stitch create smoother edges on the sides in comparison to the Even Moss stitch.
