If you are looking to add that boho-chic look to your home, this boho crochet table runner pattern is what you have been looking for!
I decided to make the Waves of Grain C2C Table Runner after I used this beautiful stitch in the Waves of Grain C2C Blanket.
You know how much I love working from corner to corner, and after I came up with that wheat-like stitch, I had to use it in another design!

Corner to Corner Crochet Table Runner
So I guess that the first thing that comes to mind when the pattern says C2C is that classic C2C stitch, but if you’ve been following me for a while, you’d know it’s probably not the case.
I like to take different and interesting crochet stitches and find a way to work them from corner to corner. This time, we will learn how to crochet a boho table runner using the C2C method.
This way you don’t need to start with a long starting chain and worry about tension. You can also decide the width and length of your crochet table runner as you go.

Boho Crochet Table Runner Pattern – About the Waves of Grain C2C Design
The Waves of Grain crochet table runner is worked from one corner to the other creating a rectangular crochet table runner.
When using a combination of the C2C V Stitch and V-puff stitches, these two stitches are being shifted every 3 rows, which creates the grains and wheat ears look.
I like how working this stitch pattern in diagonal creates a unique and modern crochet table runner, especially when adding tassels!
What Size Should a Crochet Table Runner Be?
The length of a table runner is something you can determine yourself, and is depending on the size of your table.
Although, the standard size of a table runner varies between a length of 36-108” (91-274 cm), and a width of 10-15” (25-38 cm).
How to change the size of the Waves of Grain Table Runner?
Since the table runner is worked from corner to corner, it’s very easy to determine the size as you go! At first you work the width of the table runner, you can repeat the pattern as much as you’d like, just make sure to finish with the right row!
Then move on and start decreasing on one side and keep working until the longest side of your work is the desired length, same here, make sure to finish this part with the right row and start decreasing on both sides.
Which Yarn Is Best For Crochet Table Runner?
I usually prefer to use cotton yarn for home decor items, but I got this Etrofil Savona recycled sustainable yarn and I was so excited to use an ecological yarn! It has the perfect texture for this project, and the color was perfect.
The yarn is a bit soft (but not enough to put against the skin in my opinion), it’s got a really nice stitch definition and very subtle speckles. The yarn is labeled Fingering (#1) weight, but it felt a bit thicker for me, so when I checked with the WPI test, I got a Sport (#2) weight which made more sense to me.
For this crochet table runner pattern, I also recommend using thin yarn such as Sport (#2) or Fingering (#1) weight since there are a lot of puff stitches, and using a thick yarn will result in a very thick table runner. But I highly recommend checking your gauge before you start making this table runner.

- Every 3 rows, the V-puffโs and V-hdc are being shifted.
- This table runner is based on my C2C V stitch pattern, you can find the photo tutorial on my HERE.
- I recommend making a small swatch of the increase and decrease sections before you make the whole table runnner.

I made a ‘mitered corner’ baby blanket using Hobby Lobby sugar wheel in white with strips of color. It was well received. This pattern seems very detailed. So well written. Love your patterns. It was actually quite easy, Making another one using other colors for same customer.
Thank you Margaret, your blanket sounds beautiful!
I’m so happy you enjoyed making my patterns ๐

Hi..beautiful pattern ..love your table runner if it needs to be longer which rows are repeated to get desired length of about 70 inches..thank you
Hi Janie,
Thank you, I’m so glad you like this table runner!
If you want to make this table runner longer, repeat rows 5-16, but make sure to finish with row 13, before you start decreasing.
Okay. Thank you so much…
Could a DK yarn be used for the table runner instead of a Sport weight?
Hi Angie,
You can use DK yarn, with a suitable hook size, the table runner then will turn out a bit bigger.
But you can adjust the pattern to the size you need by increasing until the size you want (according to the instructions) and then start decreasing on one side.
I hope it helps ๐

Hi gootie I love this runner but I have a problem
When I fifshied row 23 it ended by 12 v-puff ,13v-hdc as I work in the ch 2space of previous row so what is wrong if you please as Iโm exited to finish it Thank you
Hi Omneya,
Thank you so much for reaching out about it.
I just checked the stitch count, and I had errors in rows 18, 20, 22, 26.
I apologize for that, everything is fixed now.
But for row 23, the stitch count is correct, since you are starting with ch3 and increasing in the beginning of the row, you need to finish the row by working hdc2tog in the last ch-1 sp and ch-2 sp, so you’ll have 12 v-puffs and 12 v-hdc’s.
I hope it helps,
Agat
