I designed the Crochet Flower Stitch blanket strip for the Blossoming Blanket Crochet-Along, which celebrates the beginning of the Spring season.
Although the tutorial shows only a strip of this stitch, it can be used to make a full blanket by easily repeating the pattern.

The crochet flower stitch is an easy repeatable pattern. I wanted to create a warm fabric that still has beautiful flowers in it and decided to use a similar flower stitch to the one we used in the In Bloom Ruana pattern, which is similar to the crochet Lotus stitch and the Lace Flower Stitch.
This puff flower crochet blanket stitch is made by working 3 Puff stitches that are worked into a V stitch, while each puff is separated by a chain. The flowers are shifted aside with each repetition, so they won’t be stacking over each other.

How to Change the Width of This Blanket Strip
If you want to use this stitch as one big flower blanket, you can easily change the width of the pattern as you’d like.
In order to change the width, make a multiple of 18 chains, then add another 18 chains and 2 more of the turning chains. For example: 18×3+18+2.
The Blossoming Blanket Crochet Along
I designed the flower crochet blanket strip, especially for the Blossoming Blanket Crochet-Along. This event is hosted by Hortense from Knitting with Chopsticks, and we will create a big crochet blanket with different flower stitches.
The Blossoming CAL is a collaborated CAL, when each designer has designed a floral-themed stripe, and the sections are worked on top of each other (no joining). Similar to the Serenity and Harmony CAL’s.
It will run from May 7th – June 18th: Every Tuesday and Friday a new section is released on the designer’s blog (no free PDF download).
As always, you have the option to purchase an ad-free cohesive PDF eBook with the full blanket pattern, and you can save 30% off if you purchase it during the event.
