What is a Crochet Mandala Used For?
A crochet mandala can be made to lay down flat, used as a table center piece, or a trivet. Also, as you will see in the patterns below, a mandala can be made to be also used as coasters or a hot pad.
You can also sew the mandala to wooden hoop and turn it into a lovely and full of chicc wall hanging decor.

Any mandala can be attached to a hoop and turn into a beautiful wall hanging. You can use either a wooden hoop or a metal hoop.

How to Attach a Mandala to a Hoop?
There are several ways to add a hoop to your mandala. The easiet way is to make any mandala of your choice with a diameter of your hoop, bind off and then sew the mandala with a sewing thread to the hoop.
Another option is on the last round, work a single crochet around the hoop to attach the hoop to your mandala.
What Kind of Yarn Should You Use for a Mandala Pattern?
The great thing about a mandala pattern, that most of them can be made with any type of yarn and are perfect as a stash buster pattern.
But if you want to use your mandala as a home decor, it is recommended to use cotton yarn, because it easier to wash and safer when using as coasters or pot holders.
Is mandala a beginner friendly pattern?
It really is depending on the patterns itself. You can find a lot of beginner to easy mandala patterns, and there’s a few that are more suitable for intermediate.
Although, because a lot of the mandala patterns are using repetition of different stitches, they are a perfect project to learn and master new stitches!
