Crochet Shells Blanket Pattern – Whispering Shells
I love a classic crochet shells blanket pattern, there’s something very soothing in crocheting shells. Although I don’t use them enough in my designs for some reason, I only used shells in the Pearls of the Sea Purse and the first part of the Harmony Blanket until now.
This Shell crochet pattern was designed as part of the Springtime Journey Blanket. You can use this pattern for so many other projects (see ideas below), or follow the instructions for the beautiful Springtime Journey blanket.

This lacy Shell crochet stitch emphasizes the Shell stitches and creates an airy fabric that can be used in so many projects. I know that pattern says “blanket”, but let your imagination run free, I already have some ideas on how to use this gorgeous stitch pattern for other projects!
Here are some ideas for what to make with this shell crochet pattern:
- Blankets, of course
- Lacy table runner
- Rectangle shawl – Use a thin yarn for a delicately textured shawl
- Infinity scarf – Make it about 60 in (150 cm) wide, and sew the sides together.
How to change the width of this pattern – this pattern can be easily changed to any width you want, just follow this stitch multiple: chain a multiple of 6, then add 4 more chains, and 1 more chain for the turning chain. For example, 23= 18+4+1.

The Springtime Journey crochet blanket is a co-design blanket by Shannon from The Loophole Fox and Agat from Made by Gootie, that can be made either as a baby blanket, lapghan or a throw.
The free crochet along blanket is hosted through June 3rd-30th. The pattern is free to view on the designers’ blogs as every part released.

At the beginning of the row, do not chain, keep your yarn behind your hook and work 1 single crochet in the first stitch, then work another single crochet into the left leg of the single crochet you just worked.
