The Friendship Blanket Crochet-A-Long (CAL) is a 41 crochet squares blanket pattern.
This awesome CAL is hosted by Helen from Sunflower Cottage Crochet and is a collaboration of 25 designers, where each designer designed a square for this blanket.
I was so excited to design the Rambling Roses Square as part of this blanket crochet along!

What is a Crochet Along?
A crochet Along (CAL) is an event where several people (or a big group of people) are crocheting the same project at the same time.
Most of the crochet-along events use one pattern that is divided into a few sections, and each section is released on a different date during the event.
For the Friendship Blanket Crochet Along we have a blanket made out of 40 different crochet squares that will be released 3 times a week during the event.
About the Friendship Blanket Crochet-Along
The free blanket crochet-along begins on 01/05/2021 and will end by 04/18/2021.
To create a 40 crochet squares blanket pattern, every week during the CAL event a new free crochet square will be released on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 9 am GMT.
Some of the squares will be available for download as a PDF with a coupon code that will be provided on the Sunflower Cottage Crochet website, and some will be available as a blog post, depending on the designer’s choice.
After all 40 crochet square patterns are released, Helen will release instructions on how to join the different squares and for the blanket’s border.ย

How Much Yarn Do You Need For The Crochet Blanket CAL?
All squares are made with an Aran/Worsted (#4) weight yarn.
For her squares, Helen used 3,015 yards / 2,057 meters of Paintbox Simply Aran yarn, she used 4 different colors for the squares, using 4 skeins for each color (a total of 16 skeins for the squares).
For the border, Helen used 605 yards / 553 meters of Paintbox Simply Aran yarn, which is 3 skeins of yarn.
Please notice that since the crochet squares were designed by different designers, each square can be worked with different hook sizes.
The hooks used in the blanket CAL are varied from 4mm to 6mm. I use Addi Swing and Tulip Etimo Hooks!
