This beautiful crochet dishcloth is made using the C2C technique with the beautiful Berry stitch.

I used my C2C Large Berry pattern to make a stunning Textured Dishcloth crochet pattern.

Don’t be intimidated by the texture, the pattern is an easy repeat worked from corner to corner to any size you want!

The washcloth written instruction includes both a photo tutorial and a video tutorial.

There is something mesmerizing in the crochet Berry stitch, it creates a gorgeously textured fabric that just catches your eye.

The Berry stitch creates this lovely small round puff stitch (I also made a tutorial for it as an edging). For this design, I wanted to create a textured washcloth crochet pattern. I started designing the Berry stitch in C2C but wasn’t happy with how well the Berries “popped out” of the fabric.

I decided to add another yarn over to the Berry stitch to create a larger “bobble”, and that gave me the “pop” I was looking for!

Although the pattern is called for a crochet dishcloth, but you can work this pattern as big as you’d like to make any item you want.

Notes

  • To make it easier to find the ch3 / ch2 spaces at the end of the row, place a stitch marker when you ch3/ch2 at the beginning of each row.
  • When working the single crochet after the L-Berry: Work the sc tight to make the Berry pop.
  • The L-Berry stitches will pop from the wrong side of your work.
  • The stitch count is shown only at the beginning of the increase section to help you get the hang of the pattern.
  • The washcloth can be made both as a square and as a rectangle.
  • You can use this pattern to make a blanket! Just keep increasing to the desired width.
