Construction of the Rustling Leaves Blanket – Autumn Crochet Blanket Pattern

This beautiful autumn crochet blanket pattern was designed as one piece, crocheted in a square from the middle out. Which means you don’t need to start with a long starting chains, and because each part is worked after the other, there is no seaming or joining parts!

Gauge: The Blanket is worked in the round to create a square, while each section differs with its texture and gauge.
To make sure the blanket lies flat and does not become wobbly, the sections are worked with different sizes of crochet hooks, please make sure to check the hook size and work a small swatch to make sure your gauge matches the specific section.

For that reason, we also alternated the stitches in the corners, please pay attention to the increase in each round.
After each part, we work two rounds of transition rounds that create a simple contrast color divider section, adding uniformity, giving the blanket a modern look, and emphasizing the next part’s different texture.

To make sure the blanket stays perfectly squared, we turn after each round and don’t work in the round in the classic way.

Blanket Size: The blanket is approximately 127 cm / 50” square. However, the center-out construction makes it very easy to adjust the size to a smaller size by working fewer sections.

    1. Thank you, Mary! I’m glad you like the blanket.
There is a big filet section in the blanket with a lot of double crochet stitches 😉
