This cute crochet daisy granny square pattern is quick and fun to make.
If you like making flower granny squares, this one is a beautiful addition to your granny square patterns. It’s a great “building block” for many projects.
You can play with different colors to make the flower pop. Another option is using this flower motif and working a solid granny square around it.

Materials
โ Crochet hook 3.5 mm / E (I love the Etimo Hooks).
โ DK (#3) weight yarn โ I used Fibra Natura โ Cottonwood.
Total amount of yarn needed for 1 square:
Color A – 5gr/10m/11yds
Color B – 10gr/21m/23yds
Color C – 15gr/35m/38yds
โ Tapestry needle
โ Scissors
Finished Size – 4×4″ (10×10 cm).
Abbreviations (US)
blo – work through the back loop only
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
puff – (yo, insert hook into next st, yo and pull up a loop) x 4 times working into same st, yo and pull through 8 loops, yo again and pull through 2 remaining loops.
sp – space
ss – slip stitch
st – stitch
yo – yarn over
3trCL – 3-treble Cluster: (Yo twice, insert your hook into the same indicated st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops) x 3 times. With 4 loops on the hook, yo and pull through all 4 loops.
4trCL – 4-treble Cluster: (Yo twice, insert your hook into the same indicated st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops) x 4 times. With 5 loops on the hook, yo and pull through all 5 loops.
(โฆ) – crochet the instructions within brackets as many times as directed.

How to crochet the puff stitch (puff):
(yo, insert hook into next st, yo and pull up a loop) x 4 times working into same st, yo and pull through 8 loops, yo again and pull through 2 remaining loops.
How to crochet the 3-treble Cluster (3trCL):
(Yo twice, insert your hook into the same indicated st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops) x 3 times. With 4 loops on the hook, yo and pull through all 4 loops.
How to crochet the 4-treble Cluster (4trCL):
(Yo twice, insert your hook into the same indicated st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops) x 4 times. With 5 loops on the hook, yo and pull through all 5 loops.
Notes
- Ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- Ch 4 at the beginning of the row counts as treble.
- Ch 4 + 3trCL count as 4trCL.
- Ch 5 at the beginning of the row counts as 1 dc + ch2.
- How to change colors: At the last stitch of the round, before changing color, start the stitch as normal, when you pull the yarn through the loop to finish the stitch, wrap the new color around the hook and pull through.
How to Crochet Daisy Granny Square
With Color A โ Ch 4, ss to the 1st ch to create a ring (you can make a magic ring if preferred).
Round 1: Ch 1, work 8 hdc into the ring, ss to the 1st hdc. (8 hdc)
Round 2: With Color B โ Ch 4, 3trCL in the same 1st hdc (pics 1&2), ch 3, 4trCL in next hdc.
* Ch 2, 4trCL in next hdc, ch 3, 4trCL in next hdc; Repeat from * 2 more times. Ch 2, ss to top of 3trCL (pics 3&4), ss loosely into next ch-3 sp and change color (pic 5).
(8 4trCL, 4 ch-2 sp, 4 ch-3 sp)
Round 3: With Color C – Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc + ch2), 4 dc in same ch-3 sp.
* Skip next CL, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, skip next CL, (4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc) in next ch-3 sp; Repeat from * 2 more times. Skip next CL, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, skip next CL, 3 dc in initial ch-3 sp (corner), ss to 3rd ch of the beginning ch-5. (44 dc, 4 ch-2 sp)
Round 4: Ss into next ch-2 sp (corner), ch 2 (doesnโt count as a st), [1 puff, ch 3, 1 puff] in same ch-2 sp, 1 dc in each dc until ch-2 corner.
* [1 puff, ch 3, 1 puff] in next ch-2 sp. 1 dc in each dc until ch-2 corner; Repeat from * 2 more times. Ss to top of 1st puff st. (44 dc, 8 puff, 4 ch-3 sp)
Round 5: Ss into next ch-3 sp (corner), ch 1 (doesnโt count as a st), [2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc] in same ch-3 sp, skip next puff, 1 sc in each of the next dc, 1 sc in next puff.
* [2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc] in same ch-3 sp, skip next puff, 1 sc in each of the next dc, 1 sc in next puff; Repeat from * 2 more times. Ss to 1st sc. (64 dc, 4 ch-2 sp)
Fasten off, weave in the ends and block if needed.
