A Lacy Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern

This lightweight infinity scarf crochet pattern is crocheted with a Fingering (#1) yarn. Combining a thin yarn with the pattern’s stitch combination creates a unique and kind of lacey crochet scarf.

For this textured crochet infinity scarf, I used the beautiful Clover Fan stitch with slight modifications to add more texture and emphasize different areas of the pattern.

The Clover Fan Crochet Stitch

I have a few crochet stitch books, and every now and then I like to browse them for new stitches. Whenever a stitch pattern catches my eye, I mark the page.

When I received the Stroll Tonal yarn from WeCrochet, I just knew I had the perfect pattern for this yarn!

The uniqueness of the Clover Fan stitch,  creates textured and big crochet fan stitches, that are made from this kind of cluster or puff stitch with “2 legs”.

When you first look at this stitch pattern, it looks a bit like a textured crochet chevron infinity scarf pattern. But when you get a closer look, you see the beautiful Clover cluster stitches.

How Many Skeins of Yarn Do You Need to Crochet an Infinity Scarf?

This question depends on the pattern you are using, of course. But for the Clover Fan Infinity scarf you only need 2 skeins of Knit Picks – Stroll Tonal.

This yarn was generously provided to me by WeCrochet. I know this yarn is more on the pricey side, but it’s definitely worth it.

The Stroll Tonal is a super soft yarn with a great drape and stitch definition. It is made of 75% fine superwash Merino wool and 25% Nylon, and being a hand-painted yarn, it has these beautiful shades, I used the Eucalyptus shade for my scarf.

  1. I just rec’d and printed out the pattern Clover Fan Infinity Scarf and have a question. This is made into a “round”.. Is it possible to make it as a rectangular flat shawl, or wrap? If i didn’t join the beginning chains, and made it three times the width (crocheting the pattern 3 times, back to back.) would that turn out?
I’m thinking of making this into a prayer shawl for someone with lots of physical problems.
I would have to make each “end” flat somehow. Or at least “finished” somehow.
Any suggestions? It is a beautiful pattern. Elegant yet fancy.
Just wondering if anyone else has made it flat rather than circular.
    Thanks!!

    1. Hi Marilyn, yes you can work this pattern flat, back and forth.
You will just have to noticed when you have a back loop stitch, and you are on the wrong side, to work it as a front loop instead.
I hope it helps, this will make a beautiful prayer shawl!
