I love making plant hangers, they bring so much light and a fresh look to your house. I made the Iris plant hanger as a gift for a friend’s housewarming, and she loved them so much!

The Iris crochet plant hanger pattern is worked in the ground and based on my Iris Coaster pattern. The pattern uses the beautiful Iris stitch and is worked easily in the round.

The Yarn I Used for My Crochet Plant Hanger

For my crochet plant hangers, I used Lion Brand – Re-Up yarn. It’s an eco-friendly yarn consisting of 70% recycled cotton and 30% recycled polyester. It’s sturdy and perfect for home decor items.

When making a plant hanger, it’s important to use cotton yarn or a cotton blend with a high percentage of cotton in it. Cotton is a sturdy fiber with high durability, and doesn’t stretch much.
