The Iris Triangle Shawl pattern is an easy crochet triangle shawl pattern. If you are looking for a fun and relaxing crochet shawl pattern, you are in the right place!
This shawl uses mostly the Iris stitch and some puff stitch to add texture. The pattern is easy and relaxing with a repetitive section, so you can work the shawl as big as you’d like.

About the Iris Triangle Shawl Design and Construction
Iris stitch is one of my favorite stitches, it’s a double V stitch, it has a beautiful texture and works up quickly. I also used the Iris Stitch in a Square in my recent Iris Cocoon Shrug pattern.
This triangle shawl pattern is worked from the top middle out, using the iris stitch, and is increased in the middle and the sides of the shawl. To add some texture to this shawl, we have a V puff stitches row every 11 rows.
The shawl can be worked as big as you would like, by keep repeating the repetition section.

The Yarn I Used For My Shawl
For my shawl, I used Scheepjes Whirl which is a Fingering (#1) weight yarn, so if you are looking for Scheepjes Whirl shawl patterns, this one is for you! I enjoyed working with this beautiful and soft yarn, it’s made of 60% cotton and 40% acrylic.
You can use any yarn you’d like, I recommend using Fingering (#1) or Sport (#2) weight yarns, to keep the texture showing.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful design on the blog hop today. I love shawls and scarves made with fingering weight yarn because they’re light yet still warm and soft, with cozy drape. Thank you!
I might be reading this wrong, but the instructions seem to go from row 8 to row 11. I donโt see instructions for rows 9 and 10. Is there something that I am missing?
You were reading it right, I missed these 2 rows.
The pattern has been updated, thank you for letting me know about it!
You do not have the instructions for Rows 9 & 10. Just FYI
Thank you so much for letting me know, Jan!
I have updated the pattern.
Hi
If I want to make my shawl bigger, do I repeat rows 5 to 16 = 4 more timesโฆ?? Tks
Hi Pauline,
Yes, you should repeat rows 5-16 as much as you’d like, and then finish with working rows 5-9.
I hope it helps ๐
Agat
I crocheted row 12 and have the number of v puffs you say. But when I crochet row 13 I end up with 17 DV and 2 DDV, not 19 DV and 2 DDV. Please can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Also I do them in the 2 chain space between the v puffs as there are no 1 ch space between them.
Hi Vicki,
The DV and DDV in row 13 are worked into the ch-1 space in the middle of each V-puff, and not in to the ch-2 sp (same as you worked in previous rows, into the ch-1 sp of the V stitches).
Once you will work into the ch-1 spaces of each V puff stitch, you will get 19 DV.
There’s a diagram after the written instructions, it can help clear it out.
I hope it helps ๐
